My name is spelled with a C but pronounced like a J—so just call me Jen.I’m the firstborn to a migrant family, raised at the intersection of culture, religion, and identity. Like many, I navigated the blur between the two, often unsure where one ended and the other began. That identity crisis was more than just a phase—it became the catalyst that led me into the field of psychology.
Over the past decade, I’ve completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Counselling, and an Honours in Psychology. I’m also a Positive Behaviour Practitioner, and I’ve combined my two strengths—therapy and behaviour—to offer holistic parenting support that is trauma-informed and culturally attuned.
I’ve worked as a school counsellor for 8 years, and more recently as an EAP counsellor, support worker, and child protection practitioner. As a mother of two navigating this fast-paced, modern world, I understand the very real challenges of parenting today—especially in the age of social media, unrealistic societal expectations, and generational pressures. My lived experience and professional insight come together to support families in a space that’s non-judgmental and deeply compassionate.
I’ve also done extensive work as a mentor within the Muslim community and continue to do so wherever possible. These experiences have shown me just how much culturally and religiously sensitive support is missing from mainstream services—and how powerful it can be when people finally feel seen and understood.
Rewire Counselling is more than a service—it's a space for reconnection, reflection, and rewriting the story you're ready to outgrow. Whether you're seeking support with identity, parenting, or personal healing, I’m here to walk that journey with you.

I’m Rejhana Frljak Basic, specializes in couples counselling, child and adolescent therapy, and therapy informed by Islamic principles. With a Bachelor's in Counselling and over three years of experience, I’ve worked with couples, families, and young people in schools, private practice, and in-home support.
My passion for counselling grew from my own journey—having a counselor who helped me through challenging times inspired me deeply. Alongside this, my Islamic faith has given me a strong sense of purpose in helping others build healthy relationships and strong family foundations.
At Hana Counselling, I tailor my approach based on each client's needs, blending Islamic principles with Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Whether you’re seeking faith-based support or practical guidance, I am here to help you strengthen communication, resolve conflicts, and build stronger relationships, because I believe that a healthy marriage is the foundation for strong parenting.

Medine Sahin brings over fifteen years of experience in advocacy and social work to her role as a trauma-informed counsellor. Her transition into therapeutic practice was a natural progression, born from the privilege of supporting individuals through deeply personal healing journeys.
With a culturally and linguistically diverse background, Medine offers unique insight that allows her to bridge service gaps and build meaningful rapport with the communities she serves. She places high value on cultural humility, intersectionality, and collaborative care—principles that sit at the core of her work.
Medine’s therapeutic experience spans across schools, where she provides support for neurodiverse children and guidance to educators through behaviour support planning. She also works closely with women and children impacted by trauma, family violence, and discrimination—using evidence-based and body-oriented techniques to support their healing.
As a certified Social Stencil trainer, she has adapted the program to work with children in group settings. Her holistic practice incorporates trauma-informed techniques, mindfulness, and body-based approaches to help clients reconnect with their bodies, process stored trauma, and build resilience and self-compassion.
Medine is fluent in Turkish and offers interpreter services where needed (additional fees apply). She also accepts Mental Health Care Plans under the Medicare Benefits Schedule and utilises Focussed Psychological Strategies.

“The most advanced form of growth is the continual development of the self, which requires the courage to be vulnerable, the wisdom to reflect, and the resilience to embrace change.”
